The story

Six Zero began as a hobby, not a business. Dale Young, an engineer who had spent a decade living in rural Tanzania, came home to the Sunshine Coast, discovered pickleball via his mother in 2020, and started building paddles in his father's backyard workshop.

Hundreds of iterations later, his carbon seam edge technology combined with hot-mold production became a standard the industry adopted. Six Zero were among the first to ship thermoformed Gen 2 paddles.

Shape decoder

Model / shapeCategoryDimensionsNotes
QuartzWidebody-Gem series, compact / standard
SapphireElongated-Gem series
RubyHybrid16.3" x 7.7"Gem series
Coral / Coral ProMixed-Next Gem series, each in Hybrid, Elongated (true 16.5") and Widebody at the same price

Six Zero names models rather than shapes, and offers the same model across multiple geometries. The Coral's three-shape parity is unusual: most brands charge a premium for elongated variants.

Worth knowing

Official Paddle Sponsor of the PPA Tour and a major sponsor of Australia's NPL league. Each production paddle is hand-laid in a process taking over four hours. Dale is publicly outspoken about innovating within USAP limits. The brand donated 215 paddles to Pickleball Cares and raised funds for Maui fire relief and breast cancer research.
